Lead Actor Max Mauff (Felix)

Working on Patong Girl was a complex and rich experience for me in a lot of ways. Coming into contact with Thailand was a very positive part of that, which has significantly influenced the film.

The tricky thing was to find credibility – not just within the family, but especially, for me, in the love story between Felix and Fai. And it was a particular challenge to tell a credible story of holiday romance – with all the confusion and miscommunication that entails – despite all of the cultural differences.

Over time, Amp and I were able to form an excellent working relationship.

I've got lots of wonderful memories, lots of fantastic moments together with friends from both Thailand and Germany. If just a little of the magic of traveling comes through in the film, I'll be very pleased.
